What Data Do We Collect?
When you use our services, we may collect:

We only process the data necessary to deliver our services. All location sharing only occurs within a defined area around Kåbdalis (a virtual boundary covering approximately 10 km from the resort), so your location is not shared when you are outside this area.
Why Do We Process Your Data?
We use personal data to:

Display your position on the map and allow you to share location with friends (requires mutual consent)

Conduct analyses to develop and improve our services

Send confirmations, operational information and communications you have chosen to receive

Send information about local events and offers when you are in the defined area
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use this application. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, we recommend getting your parents’ permission before registering. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
Location Data
Location data is only collected with your explicit consent and is limited to a 10km radius around Kåbdalis Hof (coordinates: 66.157581°N, 19.995700°E). You can disable location sharing at any time in app settings.
Friend location sharing requires mutual consent — both users must explicitly agree to share their location with each other. Friends can see your location when you are inside the defined area (10 km from Kåbdalis), regardless of their own location. You can revoke consent for specific friends at any time.
We collect individual GPS data (position, speed, and direction) to calculate statistics such as number of ski runs, total distance skied, popular slopes and visitor patterns. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that affects you personally.
Location information from the app is for convenience only and should not be used as the sole source for safety or navigation in dangerous situations. You should always use proper equipment, follow the resort’s safety rules, and use your own judgment when skiing.
How Long Is Data Retained?

Location data is retained for a maximum of 3 years from the last time you were active within the defined area (10 km from Kåbdalis), after which it is automatically deleted or anonymized.

Contact information for marketing and newsletters is retained until you revoke your consent or unsubscribe.

Technical and analytical data is retained only as long as needed for statistics and development purposes.
Who Can Access the Data?
To deliver our services, we use trusted providers:

Forss IT AB – technical operations of our services and data management

Twilio and Postmark – handling of email and SMS
All parties process personal data in accordance with applicable law and have binding agreements on information protection. Only authorized system administrators have access to detailed information, while other staff only have access to aggregated and anonymized statistics.
When you share your location with approved friends in the app, this means you are sharing your location data with third parties. Both users must explicitly consent to this sharing.
Storage Within and Outside EU
We primarily store data within the EU/EEA. If a provider needs to transfer data outside the EU, the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses (SCC) or equivalent safeguards are used. Some of our providers, such as Twilio and Postmark, are based outside the EU/EEA but follow these safeguards.

To exercise your rights, contact us at info@kabdalis.com. To permanently delete your account, go to Profile → Update profile → Delete account or contact us at info@kabdalis.com. This permanently removes all your data and cannot be undone.
Prohibited Uses and User Responsibility
You may not use the app for harassment, stalking, illegal activities or activities that violate others’ privacy. You must not share your login credentials with anyone or attempt to bypass the app’s security measures.
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for respecting other users’ privacy when sharing location data. You must immediately notify us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. Misuse of the service may result in account suspension.
Kåbdalis App may send notifications based on your GPS location. You can manage your notification settings in your device’s settings menu.
Data Security
We take technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Data stored on our servers is handled in encrypted databases with strict access control. If a data security incident occurs that affects your privacy, we will notify you and relevant authorities within 72 hours as required by GDPR.
Changes to This Policy
We may update the policy as needed. The latest version is always published on our website and in the app. We recommend that you regularly review our privacy policy to stay informed about how we process your personal data.
